Psychological Evaluations, Therapy & Consultation for Children, Adolescents, Adults & Families

Assessments and consultation through Hamptons Psychological Assessments, PLLC can help our clients as follows:

  • Assess the client's learning style and cognitive abilities in order to optimize treatment and recommendations.
  • Determine whether the client would benefit from a full psychoeducational assessment which can clarify a complex case presentation and can help to identify learning disabilities and distinguish conditions which would benefit from psychotherapy, and/or targeted interventions
  • Review any previous testing that was conducted and help determine if additional testing is recommended and/or determine if different interventions may be required.
  • Provide individualized assessments for each client so that realistic and achievable recommendations can be made which are consistent with the client's resources.
  • Provide a differential diagnosis of attentional problems with or without comorbid learning disabilities and/or psychiatric diagnosis (i.e. depression, oppositional defiant disorder)
  • Diagnosis of psychiatric disorders that may be impacting an individual's functioning.
  • Through rating scales and progress monitoring we can work with your treating physician, psychiatrist, or nurse practitioner to track the effectiveness of psychotropic medications.
  • Identify individual strengths and weaknesses.
  • Identify if a learning disability exists and what targeted interventions will help.
  • Determine the conditions that inhibit or support the acquisition of appropriate skills.
  • Provide baseline information prior to the implementation of an intervention program or therapy
  • Monitor cognitive, academic, and social changes in the client.
  • Provide instructional recommendations for the educational team.
  • Through counseling the child will be taught self help strategies which can often lead to empowerment and raised self esteem.

  • Developing a parenting style which matches how your child learns best.
  • Understand why your child is not performing to their full potential at school.
  • Provide parents with tools, strategies, and resources to help their child.
  • Access educational and social supports that a child may be entitled to through Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) or a 504 plan which refers to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Providing documentation which may help determine eligibility for services at school such as access to educational resources, in school counseling, speech language therapy.
